The Civic Media Center in Gainsville, Florida will screen two documentary films.

April 17, 2012 - PRLog -- The CMC will screen two films, "Cardboard" and "Carbon For Water" on Monday April 30th at 7pm.  This screening is co-sponsored by Home Van Pet Care Project Inc. and Cinema Verde Environmental Film & Arts Festival as part of the fifth anniversary celebration of Home Van Pet Care Project, a local-non profit group that supplies pet food to homeless and low income people.

"Cardboard" is a short film written and directed by High School Freshman Tara-Nicole Azarian who received an award at this years Cinema Verde Environment Film and Arts Festival. This Docu-drama asks if faced with adversity what would you do to keep your family together?

This film is also one of the 12 socially aware, educational films playing to High Schools in the US & Canada as part of an ongoing educational event in addition to being part of the Teen Truth Festival this spring in California.

"Carbon For Water" relates to water issues everywhere. In our own community hundreds of individuals and families some of them living with beloved companion animals live homeless and without running water. The Filmmakers, Evan Abramson and Carmen Elsa Lopez introduce audiences to the inspiring people of Kenya's Western Province who face extreme hardships in their lives and explore one company's innovative solution for improving the health of millions of Kenyans and the environment in which they live.

Tara-Nicole Biography
Tara-Nicole Azarian began acting at the age of 4 and has appeared in films, advertisements, videos and TV projects. She is best known for her work in horror movies and her ability to cry on cue. At 11 years old she wrote, directed and starred in her first screenplay "My Name Is...Anna." It premiered at the Charlotte Film Community Film Festival where she was the youngest film maker in the festival. Tara-Nicole and her film won several awards and also received nominations in numerous festivals around the country; including nominations for Best Actress, Best Screenplay & Best Film. From there she went on to write and direct 3 other films: "Sybling Rivalry", "Cardboard" and "ROTFL". All three films have been entered into numerous film festivals with "Sybling Rivalry" winning a Best Director Award at the Electric Light Fright Festival in South Carolina and "Cardboard" winning a Best Young Filmmaker at the Stauros Inspirational Independent Film Awards in California. "Cardboard" has also been accepted into the spring 2012 Teen Truth Film Festival in California. As of January, 2012, she has more than 40 Independent films under her belt. Tara-Nicole is a passionate supporter for the prevention and treatment of eating disorders. In her spare time she loves amusement parks and enjoys Japanese Anime.
