New paintings by Melodie Provenzano to debut at Dallas Art Fair

April 11, 2012 - PRLog -- The Lyons Wier Gallery of New York City will exhibit a total of 3 paintings and 8 drawings by Melodie Provenzano at the Dallas Art Fair, which kicks off its gala preview on April 12th and will be open to the public April 13th through the 15th. The fair is located at the Fashion Industry Gallery adjacent to the Dallas Museum of Art in the revitalized downtown Arts District. Two of the paintings, "Bow of Bethlehem" and "Ask Owl", are making their public debut. "Bow of Bethlehem", acrylic on canvas,  24 x 48 inches, depicts in precise detail a tower of stacked glassware with a miniature baby boy figurine centered in the bottom foreground and a glimmering white bow in the upper right of the background. "Ask Owl", acrylic on canvas, 20 x 24 inches, depicts a clearly rendered glass owl perched on a hurricane drinking glass and an upside down square vase with a miniature microphone alongside.  The third painting "Go Dawg" was recently included in the "GREYFULL" group show at Jeff Bailey Gallery in NYC, and the 8 drawings on view were previously exhibited at Provenzano's solo show in 2011 at the Carrie Secrist Gallery in Chicago, IL.  

Melodie Provenzano (b. 1974, Kinderhook, New York) received her BFA from the Parsons School of Design in 1996. She is currently making artwork for her solo show opening November 8th at Lyons Wier Gallery located at 542 West 24th Street in NYC
