Boutique hotel holds second annual Kentucky Derby Party: "Talk Derby to Me"

April 17, 2012 - PRLog -- Last year, during the annual Kentucky Derby, hundreds of guests donned in flamboyant hats and seersucker suits filled The Iron Horse Hotel for the big afternoon race. On Saturday, May 5 The Iron Horse Hotel will host its second annual Kentucky Derby party. “Talk Derby to Me” will broadcast the 138th Run for the Roses on multiple screens throughout the bar. Guests, encouraged to dress in their Derby finest, will be able to sip Bulleit Bourbon mint juleps and have their photo taken in the Winner’s Circle with the “champion horse.” The race starts promptly at 5:15pm and will be marked with a live bugler playing the traditional “Call to the Post.”

Donations of gently used business clothing will earn guests a chance to “bet” on their favorite horse. Winners will be drawn from Win, Place and Show entries and will receive prizes including a custom shirt from J. Hilburn, a hat from Lisa Hatch Millinery or brunch for two at Smyth. Donations will benefit Milwaukee’s Repairers of the Breach.
