One World Trekking Confirms Pokhara to Kathmandu Mountain Bike Tour in Nepal

Your Chance to Ride Across Nepal on a Fully-Supported Off-Road Mountain Bike Route with Himalayan guide Charles Engelbert from Colorado

April 17, 2012 - PRLog -- From October 14 to 26, 2012, One World Trekking (http://www.oneworldtrekking.com), a leader in Himalayan adventure travel for 24 years, has confirmed its mountain bike group trip which will undertake the scenic and culturally interesting ride from Pokhara to Kathmandu. This route slowly ascends the picturesque and unspoiled valleys of Nepal’s middle hill region predominately occupied by picturesque Hindu villages. “This is one of the most beautiful biking areas in Nepal”, says One World’s director Andy Crisconi. “This ride offers a variety of single track trails and little-used jeep roads and offers great views of the snow-capped Himalayan Mountains! If you like to ride, this is a 2-week vacation that is hard to beat”, Andy continues.

This exciting mountain biking route follows the maze of singletrack village footpaths and abandoned jeep tracks which link together the two principal Nepalese cities of Pokhara and Kathmandu. One World Trekking’s ride offers technically interesting and relatively low-altitude biking, fantastic views of the Nepal Himalaya and exposure to a part of Nepal that sees few outside visitors,

From Pokhara, the route threads its way through some pretty wild territory and includes challenging climbs as well as mind-blowing descents. A feature of the route is that it is quite obviously impossible for the support vehicle to follow us at all times, as the group cross from one valley to the next, often on singletrack trails. However, by returning to the main highway and then ascending the next valley to the east, the support vehicle will stay one step ahead of the group and able to set up overnight camps before the group arrives.

Ride Guide: If you love to bike cross-country and like to test yourself on singletrack this is the ideal ride for you. Altitude is not generally a problem as the biking is mainly around the 6,000 foot mark. Accumulating over 23,000 feet of ascent and descent previous off-road experience is essential for maximum enjoyment. Average 25 miles/day.

This is a trip not to be missed and is already guaranteed to go! For more information and to receive a detailed trip itinerary, you can contact One World Trekking on 970-945-2601 or visit their website (http://oneworldtrekking.com/
