60th Anniversary Mount Everest Base Camp Trek in Nepal

One World Trekking, a 25 year leader in Himalayan adventure travel, is offering a special trek to Everest Base Camp in Nepal to commemorate the first successful summit of Mount Everest 60 years ago on May 29, 1953.

Jan. 29, 2013 - PRLog -- “The Everest region is understandably one of the world’s most popular and spectacular hiking destinations”, says One World director Andy Crisconi. “We want to offer people a way to celebrate this historic mountaineering achievement”, Andy continues.

One World’s 60th Anniversary lodge trek to Everest Base begins with a spectacular flight from Kathmandu to the 9,000-foot airstrip at Lukla. The group will follow the traditional expedition route taken by Hillary and Tenzing, first to the Sherpa capital of the Khumbu, the village of Namche Bazaar, and onwards to the high valley below Everest.

The group will have the option of hiking to the top of the viewpoint peak of Kala Pattar (18,188 feet), before spending the day (and night camping) at Everest Base Camp on the very day Mount Everest was first climbed by Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa.

This is a trip not to be missed and is already guaranteed to go! For more information and to receive a detailed trip itinerary, you can contact One World Trekking on 970-945-2601 or visit their website (http://oneworldtrekking.com/
