My Plumber Heating and Cooling To Sponsor Cinco De Mayo Festival at St. Pius X Church

April 19, 2012 - PRLog -- Cinco De Mayo is a date is observed in the United States as a celebration of Mexican heritage and pride. It commemorates the cause of freedom and democracy during the first years of the American Civil War.

The St. Pius X Cinco De Mayo fest will kick off at 9:00am and go until 5:00pm with live bands, followed by raffle prizes, food, dancing, and activities for kids. The raffles include one grand prize of $1000 and a 2nd prize of $300, along with a variety of other prizes. There is no charge to attend, so bring the family for a fun filled day!

About St. Pius X Church:
St. Pius X of Jamul had its early roots in the Indian Mission, St. Francis Xavier. On May 1, 1953, Bishop Buddy opened this Jamul Indian Mission to serve residents of Jamul and Dulzura, and the Mission was administered by Father Seraph Meneghello, who was a member of the Missionary Son of the Sacred Heart, an order that was in charge of all San Diego, Indian Missions. Today, the St. Pius X Parish Community is comprised of about three hundred families living in Jamul, Dulzura and surrounding areas. Because the parish is still considered small when compared to the other large “city parishes,” it has managed to retain its friendly, intimate atmosphere.
