April 20, 2012 - PRLog -- Presented by the Brewers Association, SAVOR is the premier beer and food pairing event in the U.S. In its fifth year running, SAVOR provides guests the chance to sample craft beers from eight geographic regions across the country. To complement the craft beers, attendees will enjoy a reception-style sampling of delicious sweet and savory appetizers from a menu designed by Brewers Association culinary consultant Adam Dulye, Chef/Owner of The Monk’s Kettle and The Abbot’s Cellar in San Francisco, and a select group of chefs specializing in beer and food pairings.
“As the benchmark event for craft beer and food lovers, SAVOR is a unique opportunity to try great food paired with beers from small producers that ordinarily only distribute locally,” says Julia Herz, Craft Beer Program Director, Brewers Association. “In addition to meeting the principals behind the breweries, attendees have an opportunity to learn about a vast array of craft beer topics courtesy of SAVOR’s educational presentations. It’s a truly coveted event by beer lovers.”
Craft brewers continue to see increased sales and growing market share, along with praise for their small-batch beers, despite the fact that overall beer industry sales have declined.
During SAVOR, Capitol City Brewing Company will be serving a Bourbon Barrel Fuel paired with S’mores, graham crust, ganache and bruleed marshmallow and Triple/Double paired with a spinach, manchego and artichoke empanada.

About Capitol City Brewing Company:

Capitol City Brewing Co. opened its doors in 1992 as the first brewpub in the nation's capitol since prohibition, thus giving its citizens and its many visitors the freedom to enjoy some of the finest handcrafted beer in the country. On the front of the menu is the symbol of freedom, the Lady Freedom, a statue found atop our namesake, the United States Capitol.
The dedicated brewers identify and use only the highest quality hops, fresh yeast and select malt to brew many of the world's great ales and lagers.
