Soldier Systems and System Integration Experts to Gather in London Next Month

Soldier Technology, an annual event running for the 11th consecutive year, will host soldier systems experts from MoD’s, prime contractors and defence manufacturers from across the globe. The prime contractors will meet with soldier modernisation programme managers to further understand their system integration requirements. Manufacturers will showcase their latest products and solutions designed with integration in to current soldier systems in mind.

Meanwhile, global soldier modernisation programme managers will deliver briefs on current and future requirements whilst benchmarking against other, global soldier programmes.

With reduced budgets traditional, established, soldier modernisation programmes are having to look for greater efficiencies often achieved through Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) technologies which require zero research and development from MoD. These are being made available by manufacturers that have been quick to respond to the new investment climate. On the other hand, prime contractors and manufacturers are looking to new regions such as Middle East and Asia for investment opportunities in soldier systems and will attend Soldier Technology to gain insight on where spend is being prioritised.
