Juliette Harris itgirl@itgirlpublicrelations.com 310.577.1122 Los Angeles, CA (April 30, 2012)– For the first time ever, Thursday, April 26th Gary “GD” Garner debuted his Vagabond Virtues Art Exhibit for Hollywood’s celebrities and tastemakers. Garner showcased his amazing journals and interactive artwork at the illustrious Voda Spa in Hollywood. For nearly 5 years, Garner has taken on the vagabond lifestyle, without material possession he has explored the far reaches of our planet. His book (Through The Eyes Of Madness) was also displayed at the exhibit, which chronicles his amazing 7 continent expedition and his mysterious art work from around the globe. Garner was delighted with the success of the exhibit explaining, “when you do 100 original pieces the scope of work can seem insurmountable, it was great to catch my breath and see everyone having so much fun exploring the art.” Cedric the Entertainer hosted the event while celebrities and art moguls mingled and enjoyed Garner’s unique artwork. Attendees included: Asa Soltan Rahmati (“Shahs of Sunset”), Andreas Wigand (“In Time”), Carlon Jeffery (Disney’s, “A.N.T. Farm”), Emma Slater and Sasha Farber (“Dancing with the Stars”), Caitlin O’Connor (“Chelsea Settles”), and many more attended the event in support of the artist. The exhibit featured five rooms of art, including an interactive room. “I think the journal room and the interactive room really created a different kind of energy for the show,” states Gary. This is the first time Garner has done electromechanical and interactive paintings, but with the overwhelming success of the event, he has already begun his plans for taking this concept to the next level. Using proceeds from his book and artwork, Garner’s new mission is to change the world, one child at a time. He hopes to reach children on each of the seven continents and provide them with the necessary tools to help their villages and communities. The Vagabond Virtues Exhibit benefited Voices of African Mothers (V.A.M.), with proceeds providing food, education and shelter for the neediest women, children and families in Africa. Gary’s art illuminates our weaknesses as human beings but reminds us, “it does not take a perfect person to change the world, it just takes a person, perfectly willing to try.” About Gary Garner: As a child Gary GD Garner was raised in a modest house trailer in a small farming community in Michigan. Through the relentless pursuit of corporate success he built and helmed three successful companies in the Seattle area before choosing to become a vagabond. Garner traveled and began to document his journey through art, from the heights of Mt. Everest to the lows of Death Valley his life has been filled with near death experiences and life altering encounters.
