By: Washington, DC Chapter - NC A&T Alumni Association The "MEAC Mix and Mingle" on May 17 will kick off a series of professional, social and community service opportunities to engage alumni and supporters. Enjoy complementary appetizers, networking activities and the opportunity to connect with leadership from DC area alumni chapters. There will be a number of prizes and giveaways to encourage area alumni to become reunited with their institution. Since Norfolk State University's shocking upset in the first round of the NCAA tournament, it is apparent that alumni of the MEAC institutions must continue to connect and engage in venues outside of the athletic arena to showcase our academic and professional successes. The NC A&T Alumni - DC Chapter is pleased to host this event and hopes that fellow MEAC alumni chapters nationwide will follow suit and support this effort to host similar events leading up to the 2013 MEAC tournament. For more information or to RSVP for the event, visit http://www.AggieMEACSocial.Eventbrite.com. There are a limited number of free tickets and all other advanced tickets are $5. On the day of the event tickets are $7. A portion of the funds will go to support the winner of the largest alumni participation contest and the NC A&T Alumni Association - Washington, DC chapter. The NC A&T Alumni Association - Washington, DC chapter was founded in 1946 and seeks to increase alumni awareness and involvement in the Washington, DC metropolitan area and to support the efforts of the national organization by recruiting students, awarding scholarships, and being a local focal point for higher education in the local community. Furthermore, the chapter is engaged in a $250,000 "Give for the Goal" giving campaign to support the 2012 annual fund. For more information about the chapter visit http://www.wdc- End
