X2 Sapphire - A New Windows-based Tablet PC From X2 Computing

May 9, 2012 - PRLog -- X2 Computing, a leading provider of mobile computing solutions for e-fulfillment, electronic dining and casino/bingo applications, has launched the X2 Sapphire, a new tablet computer.  Compatible with all Windows operating systems, including the forthcoming Windows 8, this tablet can be quickly and easily integrated into corporate networks and will run all commonly used business applications out of the box without the expense of rewriting existing applications.  With a slim form factor, X2 Sapphire is specifically designed for business use making it ideal for enterprise-wide deployments.  It will be fully supported for five years and deliver a low total cost of ownership.

X2 Sapphire is powered by an Intel Atom N2600 1.6GHz processor with 2GB DDR3 SDRAM and 16GB SSD storage giving up to 6 hours operation between recharging.  It is IP54 rated and has a 9.7” widescreen capacitive touchscreen with a fingerprint resistant oleophobic coating.  The integrated graphics processor delivers high quality images at up to 1024 x 768 resolution in either landscape or portrait formats.  

X2 Sapphire is equipped with an Ethernet port for connection to company networks and 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi networking enabling users to easily connect to wireless networks to download and edit files or access the internet.  Users can surf the internet, with full Flash compatibility, using their choice of browser such as Internet Explorer, Firefox and Opera.   X2 Sapphire has a USB port for connecting peripheral devices including external hard drives, keyboards, printers, scanners, cameras and mice.  It also has a 2 mega-pixel camera and an HDMI output enabling high quality playback of HD video and pictures through larger TV screens.

With dimensions of 267 x 210 x 22mm including corner protectors, X2 Sapphire weighs 979g.  Accessories include a desktop docking cradle with in-built USB ports, POS mounting bracket, carry case and rear mounting hand grip.   X2 also provides a range of custom charging solutions including PowerCRATE which simultaneously charges up to 25 devices.
