AutoMotorPlex Guinness World Record Attempt In Conjunction With Back To The 50’s

May 24, 2012 - PRLog -- The AutoMotorPlex™ is planning to set a world record for the most vintage cars in a continuous drive with an event to be held on Thursday, June 21st 2012.  The current record was set at 942 cars in the Netherlands back in 2002.  Bruno Silikowski, creator of the AutoMotorPlex, said: “We are very excited about the opportunity to set a world record in our community and being able to raise funds for Make-A-Wish foundation at the same time. We can beat the record by simply having 10% participation of the cars from Back to the 50’s, so this very achievable.”

Cars will leave the AutoMotorPlex in Chanhassen, MN and set the record prior to reaching the highway with the assistance of local law enforcement official leading the way.  “The partnership from state, county, and local governing bodies is what will make it possible and most importantly safe for everyone involved” said Silikowski.

Besides simply setting the record, the event will also be raising funds for Make-A-Wish foundation and the MSRA Scholarship Fund with a $5 donation for each registered car. 100% of the proceeds will go to the charities. We should be able to at least generate $5000 with your help. We hope to involve local and national sports, political, business and artist celebrities along with sponsors to make it a truly remarkable event.

Silikowski added: “The timing of everything seemed right and we are inspired to do something to benefit the good people over at Make-A-Wish and MSRA Scholarship fund.”

Logistically all cars need to be at the AutoMotorPlex by 6:00PM (Campus address: 8150 Audubon Road, Chanhassen, 55317). There will be refreshments available while staging, and bathrooms available in the Clubhouse. In addition, many of the private garages will have their doors open for people wanting to see a first of its kind motorsports community.

There is still plenty of time to get involved.
