Port Everglades, the second busiest cruise port in the world, has begun a $54 million renovation project to transform its existing cruise terminals into modern passenger facilities for more than twelve cruise lines. Perfection Architectural Systems, Inc. will be manufacturing and installing the aluminum walkway covers for Terminals 2, 19, and 26 for the project. Terminal 2 will feature a simple passenger waiting-zone canopy, while terminals 19 and 26 will have unique walkway covers that match the style of the building. Terminal 19 will feature standard walkway covers in the parking area, as well as a large T-shaped double cantilever walkway cover that will provide shelter to passengers who are dropped off at the terminal building. Terminal 26 will have a large cantilevered canopy for bus unloading, suspended canopies, and standard walkway covers. “We are excited to work with Moss and Associates on the terminal renovations for Port Everglades,” In addition to walkway covers, the terminals will also have two passenger loading bridges, separate baggage halls, improved ground transportation, and unique Florida-inspired artwork. The Port Everglades renovation project has a tight timeline for completion due to the cruise ship season starting in November. Terminal completion dates range from December 2012 to early June 2013.
