Rick Wallace Ministries Launches Campaign to Combat Obesity

May 22, 2012 - PRLog -- Bishop Rick Wallace, Founder and President of Rick Wallace Ministries and its extensions, issued a formal statement today announcing that the ministry is joining forces with Bios Life Slim and The Diet Solution Program  to launch a full scale campaign to battle obesity in America.

Bishop Wallace issued the following statement:

“This nation is the midst of an epidemic that will devastate the health of this nation far beyond any disease we have ever faced and feared. When you say cancer or HIV/Aids people cringe with fear, but when you mention obesity shoulders are shrugged and very little consideration is given to the gravity of this epidemic.

National Health Agencies such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Weight-control Information Network, National Center for Health Statistics, World Health Organization, The Hormone Foundation, and the American Obesity Association have been monitoring this trend for more than 20 years. The statistics that have been produced through the studies and observations of these agencies is startling. This nation is literally killing itself through the maintenance of our bodies fostered by poor eating habits, inactivity, environmental risk factors that need to be directly engaged and more.

Over 40% of the adults in this country are obese and over 15% of our youth (ages 2-19) are obese; placing the obesity prevalence factor of this country over 50%. There are another 20% that are at immediate risk of becoming obese. The projections for the remainder of the current decade are gloomy at best. Within the next 2 ½ years the rate will rise to over 75% and by the end of this current decade, less than eight years from now, the obesity prevalence factor in this country will be at 90%. By the year 2020 it is expected that 9 out of 10 Americans will be obese.

Having an extensive background in the Health & Fitness and Sports industries, I understand the importance of developing a healthy lifestyle. Being a spiritual leader in the Christian Community reminds me of my responsibility to more than myself. Programs must be implemented and actions taken. Believers are rendering themselves operationally dysfunctional by default because they are destroying the temple through which God wants to accomplish His work.

This program is not just for Christians; we definitely want to impact the body of Christ, but the services developed by this coalition will be available to all who want to take advantage of the program.

Bishop Wallace has indicated that he will be directly involved in the campaign. He believes that all other areas of the Christian infrastructure will suffer as long as this issue is not addressed on a large scale.
