Quiescence Music Releases New Piano Lesson: 'Glacier Point'

New piano lesson shows students how to create a free-form improviation using the humble triad!

May 25, 2012 - PRLog -- Triads … they’ve been around for centuries. They’re still being used though and according to piano teacher Edward Weiss, can be used in new and exciting ways.

Mr. Weiss, president of Quiescence Music, has a ‘new age’ approach that promises to show the beginning student how to improvise and compose in the gentle free-flowing style known as New Age piano.

Here’s what this pianist and composer has to say about this new lesson:

“Glacier Point is a lesson I created to show students how to create a free-form improvisation using nothing but triads. Both hands are used to create a flowing ethereal sound that you would never think came from triads alone.”

The online piano course Weiss runs at his website has been going strong for over 10 years now and offers a different approach than what most piano students are used to.

Weiss explains…

“I teach piano a lot like an art teacher might approach a lesson. You have a title  - something like ‘Glacier Point’ for example. You also have clear cut instruction on how to create it. I’ve always admired art instruction books because they spell everything out in a very clear way. It’s all ‘step-by-step’ and makes learning easy. I wondered why music lessons couldn’t be like this. I stopped wondering when I started creating these lessons myself.”

The lesson ‘Glacier Point’ is now available on Weiss website. Students can purchase it as a lesson single or join the online course and get it free. More info at http://www.quiescencemusic.com/singles.html
