June 7, 2012 - PRLog -- TORONTO – On October 2 & 3, The Canadian Institute will be hosting its course “Conducting Internal Investigations” in Toronto, Ontario.This course will guide delegates through a step-by-step program on conducting internal investigations that will achieve desired results and stand up to scrutiny, whether by regulators, courts or shareholders.

Led by experienced investigators from organizations such as BBCG Claim Services Limited, Bernard + Associates, Bennett Jones LLP and many more, this two day course will take participants through the investigation process, from choosing the right investigator, planning the investigation and carrying it out, to writing the report. Learnings will then be applied in practical exercises.

Over the course of the two days, delegates will learn essential skills, including:
•   Knowing when an internal investigation is required and how to do it
•   Understanding and avoiding the consequences of badly done investigations
•   Effective interviewing techniques
•   Using modern investigative tools such as electronic documents, social media and the internet
