Follow on Google News | Mesriani Law Group Secures $58,500.00 Settlement for Wrongfully Terminated Client-EmployeeThe experienced litigation and employment attorneys of the Mesriani Law Group once more secured justice for a client-employee who was subjected to several employment harassment incidents.
Beatrice Cardenas, a former employee of an unnamed company based in the City of Hawthorne in California, filed in 2010 a combination of sexual, racial, and religious harassment, and wrongful termination and retaliation cases against her former employers. Official case records show that in September 2009, Cardenas, and then a 32-year-old Hispanic woman belonging to Catholic-Christian faith, worked as a public policy assistant providing support to the company’s Director for Public Policy. Ms. Cardenas diligently and efficiently performed her work duties to prove her fitness to her job. However, her immediate superior suddenly began displaying sexually charged actions towards her. The said superior would make sexually explicit comments directed at her, causing her great discomfort and fear for her personal safety and job security. Ms. Cardenas’ superior eventually admitted that she was a lesbian, even daily relating stories to Ms. Cardenas about her “wife,” all of which were all sexually charged. Similar incidents happened from that point onwards, directly affecting Ms. Cardenas’ well-being. At one point, Ms. Cardenas began feeling extreme anxiety and stress, a condition from which she suffered for an extended period. Adding to it, Ms. Cardenas also suffered first-hand racial attacks on her Hispanic lineage, this time from another company superior. When she disclosed said racial discrimination acts to the Director for Public Policy, Ms. Cardenas did not receive the response that she was expecting, as the said company official merely shrugged off the complaint. From this point on, Ms. Cardenas became regularly subjected to increasing discriminatory and harassing conducts from the company’s superiors. Ms. Cardenas decided to relate her predicament to the company’s former chairman. Upon learning about her disclosure, Ms. Cardenas’ immediate superior flared up and summoned Ms. Cardenas to her office on February 24, 2010. There, Ms. Cardenas was told that she was being fired from the office for allegedly relaying ‘gossips’ against her immediate superior to the company’s board. When Ms. Cardenas asked for any evidence supporting such claim against her, her immediate superiors could not provide any. Ms. Cardenas was terminated on unfounded and illegal grounds, prompting her to seek the help of Mesriani Law Group’s expert employment law attorneys. With Mesriani Law Group’s over 15 years of litigation experience handling wrongful termination, sexual harassment, and religious/racial discrimination cases, the company successfully secured a favorable settlement for Ms. Cardenas. The said result once more proved that Mesriani Law Group’s pool of top notch attorneys can deliver positive results and exact justice for its oppressed clients. End
