510nano selected to present at the Tech Museum this Juneteenth

June 12, 2012 - PRLog -- Dr. Parker is an invited speaker at the Juneteenth celebration of Dr. Robert Lawrence Thornton, who was a pioneer in the development of optoelectronic technology and science.   Dr. Parker states, "510nano is proud to be included as a presenter at such a prestigious event dedicated to the memory of Dr. Thornton.  As solar technology is a subset of optoelectronics, we believe that the commercialization of our flagship technology, Scavenger, will add to the memory of the work of Dr. Thornton in optoelectronics."

Scavenger(tm) generates electricity through both visible light and heat energy which are separated using optics.  This allows photovoltaic and solar thermal technologies to simultaneously generate electricity.  Dr. Parker shares, "Scavenger promises system efficiencies of 60% and a cost profile of 6 cents per kilowatt hour."  

Dr. Parker will additionally promote the launch of 510nano's new west coat operations, Silicon Valley Solar LLC (SVS), a wholly owned subsidiary of 510nano.  He shares, "SVS's business is aimed at delivering strategically priced solar electricity to municipalities and businesses in and near California.  This effort will help us build strategic relationships throughout the region.  SVS's first initiative is signing two long-term purchasing contracts with municipalities in Silicon Valley over the next 30 days."  510nano anticipates including Scavenger(tm) in SVS's product line in approximately 18 months.
