Artist John Ross Palmer Completes 2012 Study Abroad Trip to Israel

June 18, 2012 - PRLog -- In 2011, Artist John Ross Palmer's First Class Club Members wrote essays on a "type" of destination for Palmer to complete his next annual international art series.  In November of last year, the winning essay was selected by National Fox News Correspondent Ainsley Earhardt at the Carlyle Hotel in New York City.  Written by Houston's Susan Catlett, Ph.D. BCBA-D (Co-Founder of Autism in Action), the winning essay directed Palmer to complete his series focused upon a "Place of Worship."  After months of research, Palmer and his husband attorney Ryan Lindsay selected the holiest of places, Jerusalem, Israel, to serve as the inspiration for his historic 2012 international art series.

From June 1st to June 15th of 2012, Artist John Ross Palmer stayed in Tel Aviv and toured both Jerusalem and the Dead Sea before creating his eleven-piece series  at the Tel Aviv Art Studio.  Notable places that Palmer visited included the Wailing Wall, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, the Yad Vashem Holocaust Museum, the Church of All Nations and the Garden of Gethsemane.  Palmer and Lindsay were honored and thrilled to attend the 14th Annual Tel Aviv Gay Pride Parade wearing very minimal Texas-inspired garb and gathering lots of attention.  Palmer said of the journey, "I have never been so invigorated to create art.  Israel is steeped with so much rich history I could not wait to get to my art studio to paint!"

Artist John Ross Palmer was also pleased to meet a good number of notable individuals on this trip including: Yossi Sarid (Former Israeli Minister of Education and Minister of the Environment), Herschel Gutman (Coach and Captain of the Israeli Cricket Team), Eliad Cohen (Co-Founder of Gay-ville, Acclaimed International Model and Former Cover Person for the Spartacus International Gay Guide) and Osant Shani (Israeli National Off-Roading Champion).
