GOCarbonFibre returns to Europe for 2012

June 21, 2012 - PRLog -- Smithers Rapra will be holding their 15th annual GOCarbonFibre conference on 2-4 October at the Grand Connaught Rooms in London. Past GOCarbonFibre conferences were hosted by a division of the Smithers Group formerly known as IntertechPira, and commencing from 2012, is now being run by the Smithers Rapra division of the group.

Last year’s Global Outlook for Carbon Fibre took place in Seattle, USA to great acclaim from a high level crowd of carbon fibre composite experts and business leaders. The speaker line-up in 2011 included senior figures from Automobili Lamborghini SpA, General Motors, Ford Motor Company, Lotus Engineering, SGL Automotive Composites, Gamesa and Vyatek Sports. The US edition of GOCarbonFibre is held biennially, and so 2012 sees the return of the conference to Europe.

To be chaired by John Davidson, President of Carbon Fibre Technologies International, this year’s programme will take an end-to-end look at the carbon fibre supply chain. There will be pre-conference workshops on “How to set up a carbon fibre production line” and “Update on carbon fibre recycling and reuse”, plus a conference programme covering precursor chemistry and production, fibre spinning, developments in pre-pregs, weaving and layups, market analysis and new ventures, automation, maintenance and supply chain drivers, delivered by high profile speakers from leading players in this sector.
