Extractables and Leachables USA 2013: Call for Papers

Nov. 15, 2012 - PRLog -- Extractables and Leachables USA 2013, organised by Smithers Rapra, will be coming to Providence, RI on May 7-9 2013 at the Westin Providence. Following last year’s success in Baltimore, the 2013 forum will provide delegates with a unique opportunity to come together to discuss all current E&L issues facing the pharmaceutical industry.

E&L USA will feature the latest developments from industry practitioners and working groups to meet regulatory requirements and ensure compatibility in drug-package combinations plus the latest information on regulatory updates, scientific based strategies and practical approaches for the evaluation of extractables and leachables for pharmaceutical packaging materials. Additionally, the extensive networking and social agenda set to feature at the conference will provide a valuable knowledge-sharing experience for delegates.

Smithers Rapra are now recruiting papers from experts and companies that have established best practice in the field of extractables and leachables. Organisations presenting a paper at this conference will have the opportunity to present to all parts of the pharmaceutical supply chain and will be firmly positioning themselves at the forefront of E&L activity. Submitted abstracts will be reviewed by the expert programme advisory board, consisting of E&L experts from Smithers Rapra; Andrew Feilden and Sukhy Toot and industry representatives William Beierschmitt, Pfizer and Daniel Norwood, Boehringer Ingelheim.

The following topics will be particularly relevant to the direction of the conference, however all submitted themes will be considered:
•   OINDP’s / PODP’s, particularly with increasing use of pre-filled syringes vs regulatory expectations;
•   supply chain management;
•   toxicology of possible leachables;
•   analytical methods and case studies;
•   updates for  approaches to extractables in PODP,
•   single use systems;
•   USP guidance;
•   risk assessment methodologies relating to E&L strategies.
