Follow on Google News | First Savings Bank Supports Dublin's 100th AnniversaryContribution will help the borough put on a memorable centennial celebration.
The contribution will be used to help fund a number of events planned for the Centennial weekend, including a 5k run, concert by Philly Funk Authority, a parade, car show, a number of musical groups, and a spectacular fireworks show. The First Savings Dublin branch office has been serving the community since 1976. As a lasting tribute to the borough’s rich history, Mayor Chris Hayes is spearheading “The Mayor’s Race for the Clock,” an effort to raise funds to purchase and install a town clock in time for the birthday celebration. To be located at borough-owned property at Main Street and Middle/Maple avenues, the clock will serve as a centerpiece of pride as unique as the borough itself. The main source of funding for the clock will come from the sale of memorial bricks that will be installed at the base of the clock. Priced at either $150 (6 inches by 12 inches) or $75 (6 inches by 6 inches) the bricks can be inscribed with a family or business name as a lasting tribute to the borough’s history. The borough is also selling special commemorative crocks, calendars, blankets and holiday ornaments. Quantities are limited - order before the sell out! Proceeds will help defray the cost of organizing the anniversary celebration.
