July 3, 2012 - PRLog -- WASHINGTON, DC—Penn Strategies Chief Executive and Brand Officer Shrita Sterlin will lead a comprehensive marketing workshop for nonprofit organizations, as part of the Center for Nonprofit Advancement’s nonprofit training series. The session, entitled “Power Marketing for Nonprofits,” will provide wide-ranging, interactive instruction and resources nonprofits can use to develop effective marketing campaigns for social causes, organizations and fundraising efforts. The session will be held on Thursday, July 19, 2012 from 9:30 am until 11:30 am at the Center for Nonprofit Advancement headquarters, located at 1666 K Street, NW, Suite 440 in Washington, DC.

“Social marketing and cause marketing are key components of Penn Strategies’ nonprofit work,” said Shrita Sterlin. “We are honored to collaborate with the Center for Nonprofit Advancement, one of the nation’s leading nonprofit associations, to help nonprofits develop strong marketing campaigns that advance important social causes.”

According to Time Magazine, only one-third of nonprofit organizations will last to see their sixth year. And with an estimated 4,031 nonprofits in Washington, DC alone, the intense competition for volunteers, members and dollars continues to grow. A report by the Chronicle of Philanthropy states that nonprofits "face a steep climb to make up losses from the recession." As such, many nonprofits are realizing the effectiveness of marketing as a solution to improve their standing, reach and longevity.

In “Power Marketing for Nonprofits,” Shrita Sterlin will break down essential marketing principles into tangible methods nonprofits can use to maximize marketing results. Workshop attendees will receive hands-on instruction to develop SMART marketing objectives; define target audiences; tailor messages for unique audiences; map out effective marketing strategies that engage stakeholders; and learn about practical tools to implement successful marketing campaigns.

“With limited resources and various stakeholder priorities to manage, nonprofits must implement strategic marketing tactics in order to compete in today’s market,” said Shrita Sterlin. “This workshop will walk nonprofits through simple, yet strategic, ways to cultivate a marketing campaign that propels donations and engagement.”

As part of its corporate social responsibility program, Penn Strategies donates financial resources and collaborates with nonprofit organizations to offer capacity-building workshops that strengthen nonprofit organizations.
