July 13, 2012 - PRLog -- As EU regulations and central bank decisions have major implications for Europe’s post-trade infrastructure, Peter Norman the DTCC-CSFI Post-Trade Fellow and author of "The Risk Controllers: Central Counterparty Clearing in Globalised Financial Markets" outlines the key trends emerging in the equities, exchange traded derivatives, and swaps post trade landscape:

Equities: A broadly horizontal arrangement for equities, resulting from the growing adoption of interoperability among central counterparty clearing houses or CCPs.
Exchange-traded derivatives: The acceptance, after some difficult negotiations, of vertically integrated exchanges and CCPs as the norm for trading, clearing and risk-managing exchange-traded derivative contracts.
Swaps: Recognition of two-way “open access” between trading venues and CCPs for the clearing of swaps that can be standardised.

Implications of these trends will be discussed at Trade Tech Post Trade, 11th-13th of September 2012, in London where Peter Norman and another 72 speakers will be discussing these issues in depth.

By exclusively bringing together key regulators, central banks, and those responsible for clearing, collateral management and network management across financial institutions, Trade Tech Post Trade is the only event of its kind which enables firms to determine collaborative solutions for clearing, collateral and custody functions across asset classes.
