Media Alert: July 18 Ascend Music and Media Academy Press Conference to Announce New Music Alliance

WHAT:
Tonight there will be a press conference for music and entertainment media at the Ascend Music and Media Academy’s fundraiser, The DJs After Party, at 10 pm sharp to announce details of the upcoming Digital Arts Youth Camp from July 30-August 3, and a new alliance that will educate youth over the next year and beyond. This moment will mark the beginning of one of the most productive community movements to provide music and media tothe next generation of DMV youth.



The Press Conference will also include an announcement from DMV Rap Veteran, Yung Cardoza, who is launching his solo career — and the Money Train conductor, Hip-Hop Artist Garvey the Chosen One.



A media café (photo shoot, interviews) will begin promptly after the press conference, followed by the “Miami Takeover” edition of the DJs After Party, hosted by Core DJ/Shade 45 DJ Schemes. DJ Schemes of the Miami Takeover team joins a group of 1,500  who depart for the 5th Annual Miami Takeover this weekend.



Hip-Hop Artist Nick Baker will perform during the DJs After Party and, independent artists will compete for a chance to be on the DJs After Party Compilation mixtape.

The DJs After Party is the most effective and influential new industry mixer for DMV music professionals, led by the most dominant DJs. The purpose is to bring the region together in benefit of music programs for youth via the Ascend Music and Media Academy summer digital arts youth education program. This series of late-night charity mixers, allows musicians, producers, artists, business managers, publicists, and media to meet and mingle in a down-to-earth, high-tech environment at After Hours Studio in Bowie, Maryland.


WHO:

Bubble Guts Radio on Blis.fm will co-host the program and broadcast live on UStream (with post-coverage on their regularly scheduled day and time – Wednesday July 25 (from 1-3 pm).
