The certification program for government chief information officers (CIOs) is the only one of its kind in the state and it specifically addresses the unique challenges of public sector IT executive leadership. A cohort of 25 public sector IT leaders, nominated by agency leadership, attend a total of 20 in-person sessions, monthly from October to July. Participants should have a minimum of 4 years of IT management experience and currently hold a senior management role in any level of government. Presentations, group exercises, networking, peer learning and a capstone project make up the program. CGCIO™ is offered in partnership with the national Consortium for State and Local Government Technology Leadership Development, through the Government Technology Institute at Harrisburg University. Until now there were few opportunities for public sector CIO's and other IT executives to learn how to get a seat at the executive table and how to provide meaningful advice to government officials and others. The program at Harrisburg University hopes to change this. To meet the program Co-Directors and learn more, attend a CGCIO Informational Session on August 23rd or August 28th at 9:00 am. To RSVP or ask questions, email ProfessionalEd@ Learn more about the program at www.HarrisburgU.edu/ Information about the Government Technology Institute at Harrisburg University is found online at www.HarrisburgU.edu/ End
