Del Monte Shopping Center Celebrate Addition of Electric Vehicle Charging Stations. Public Invited to Ribbon Cutting Ceremony July 24, 2012 at 5:00 p.m.

MONTEREY, Calif., July 16, 2012 -- Del Monte Shopping Center is celebrating the addition of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations with a ribbon cutting ceremony Tuesday, July 24 at 5:00 p.m.  The center has partnered with Car Charging Group, Inc.   and Ace Parking Management to bring the convenience of EV charging services to the Monterey Peninsula.  

   "The City of Monterey commends Del Monte Shopping Center for its environmental leadership,” said Mayor Chuck Della Sala.  "Electric vehicle charging stations will power hybrid and electric vehicles, reduce oil consumption and keep our air clean.”

   Mayor Della Sala will attend the ribbon cutting, along with President & CEO of Monterey Peninsula Chamber of Commerce Jody Hansen and members of Monterey City Council.  The event will take place at the foot of the escalators near Yama Sushi Restaurant.  

   Electric vehicles (EVs) on display will include the Tesla Roadster, Nissan Leaf provided by Cardinale Nissan, and Chevrolet Volt provided by Butts Chevrolet.    

   The 675,000-square-foot Del Monte Shopping Center, located at Highway 1 and Munras Avenue, now has two charging stations available for use in the center parking lot located near the escalators in the north parking lot.  For more information on EV charging stations, visit http://www.CarCharging.com.
