The district council is the governing body of the district, subject to the general supervision of the Board of Directors. It conducts all the business of the district. As Division B Governor, Smith’s job is to lead and support the division through the supervision and support of the area governors. For Division B to be successful and implement the district goals, he works closely with his team of area governors. To fulfill these goals, as Division B Governor, he will support the area governors assigned to his Division. “It is an honor to be elected Division B Governor and support members in reaching their communication and leadership goals. I know the Area Governors also considered it an honor to serve”, said Smith. “Together, we look forward to supporting the District, serving members, and enhancing the quality and performance of each club.” The Area Governors appointed to District 83, Division B are: Area 21 Stuart Kramer ACB Area 22 Sharon Tu CC, ALB Area 23 Dennis Quirk CC Area 24 Timothy Grubb CL Area 25 Nella Merritt CC, ALB Area 26 Stephen Zimmerbaum ATM-S One of Andrew’s primary goals as Division B Governor is to ensure that each club achieves its mission and fulfills its responsibilities to its members. To achieve this, Smith will coordinate activities within the division, set division goals, and assist in the training of area and club officers. “The Division is developing a Division Success Plan that is based on the needs and goals of the members we serve”, said Andrew. “Key aspects of the plan include the role of each member of the division’s core leadership team, core values, operating principles, strategic goals, and a framework to carry out the plan and produce results.” About Andrew Smith, Esquire: Andrew’s passion to help others reach their potential and achieve their purpose led him to join the John Maxwell Team. Prior to becoming a Founding Partner with the John C. Maxwell Team, he held leadership positions in corporate, community, and church organizations. Smith’s thirty year background and experience in Engineering, Finance, Business Development, Contract Management, and Information Technology allows him to be very versatile and resourceful in serving clients. Andrew is also an attorney with a general law and mediation practice. His mediation practice assists individuals, groups, and organizations in resolving conflicts and disputes. His practice covers business, civil, employment, technology, and complex commercial matters. Andrew was nominated by the New Jersey Association of Professional Mediators (NJAPM) Board to a three year term as a Director of NJAPM. NJAPM is the state’s largest mediation organization. His term starts in October of this year. His education includes a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Master of Business Administration, Master of Finance, and a Juris Doctorate. Additional training includes alternative dispute resolution, compliance and ethics.
