Follow on Google News | Electro Osmotic Damp Proofing – Curing Damp Walls In WalesAt Timberwise they have a variety of damp proofing methods to suite all manner of damp problems and properties. From their DriWise damp proofing cream, to cavity drain membranes and tanking.
By: Timberwise Due to a series of factors including the thickness of the walls the damp proofing system of choice for this property was an electro osmotic damp proofing system. What is electro osmotic damp proofing? An electro osmotic damp proofing system works on the principal of moving water by means of electrical osmosis. The damp proofing system introduces a tiny electrical current into the wall via a series of titanium anodes that are positioned into the wall. These anodes are then connected via a special connecting wire which is then pointed in to the wall, making the system almost invisible to the naked eye. The system is then connected via an earth wire to an earth rod on the outside of the property. The pictures provided show some of the stages in creating an electro osmotic damp proof course. They show the anode prior to inserting in to the wall, the anode going in to and getting fixed into the wall and finally the connecting wire going around the outside of the building.
