Canadian Classifieds: Profits Leaving the Country

Kijiji profits while working off the backs of hard working Canadians.

Aug. 1, 2012 - PRLog -- Online classifieds sites such as Craigslist and Kijiji, make up up a multi-million dollar industry and Canada is being left out. Kijiji is owned by Ebay and the profits garnered from the site are sent to the Netherlands while Craigslist doesn’t offer any type of paid advertising and both are American owned.

Canada doesn’t need to settle on ugly sites that limit functionality and remain confusing or bombard users with advertising. If you live in Vancouver why can’t you place a free ad in Toronto? Why can’t you place an ad in multiple cities from a single posting? Why do you have to be in Canada to post an ad? Worldwide, Canadians are the biggest users of YouTube, yet can’t even include a video in the ad.

A trio of home-grown talent has provided Canadians from coast to coast with their own free community classifieds site called Sortopia.com. Sortopia makes it simple to buy, sell or promote products and/or services and has raised the bar by offering more features to make each ad as attractive as possible while providing a safe and user-friendly experience. Sortopia is putting the “class” in classifieds!

Sortopia.com was founded in January of 2012 for the benefit of all Canadians and is quickly becoming the classifieds site of choice in Canada.
