Purdue REC Awards SA Ignite Meaningful Use Contract

The Purdue Regional Extension Center, a division of Purdue Healthcare Advisors (PHA) at Purdue University, will utilize SA Ignite’s MU Assistant®, dubbed the EHR Meaningful Use “TurboTax® equivalent” for its ability to automate clients’ MU reporting and achieve one-click electronic attestation to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.

Lee added that SA Ignite is building a nucleus of academic extension centers. Of the 62 regional extension centers, approximately one-quarter are affiliated with universities, two of which are SA Ignite partners and together serve more than 4,000 providers.

MU Assistant, a cloud-based software solution, automatically aggregates and monitors MU measures, across multiple EHR systems, and provides decision support tools such as enabling easy selection of 90-day windows (for Medicare Payment Year 1) and suggesting MU exclusions that providers may claim. The MU Assistant then electronically files providers’ data to the Medicare attestation web site, providing a one-click attestation process, and electronically archives supporting data for potential audits.

Specifically, PHA will utilize MU Assistant to work toward the following goals:

•   Sustainability – As PHA works with provider organizations outside its base, MU Assistant will serve as a competitive differentiator that attracts and retains new clients.
•   Analytics – MU Assistant provides the ability to access data across Purdue Healthcare Advisors’ entire provider base, which PHA will use to systematically assist providers in improving outcomes.
