Concord Art Association Presents 13th Annual Frances N. Roddy Competition

Aug. 2, 2012 - PRLog -- Concord Art Association is pleased to present its 13th Annual Frances N. Roddy Open Competition from September 13-October 14, 2012. The competition and subsequent exhibition features work of New England artists working in a variety of media and technique including painting, printmaking, photography, fiber arts, and drawing. This year's juror is Jen Mergel, Beal Family Senior Curator of Contemporary Art, Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.

The Roddy Competition honors a beloved member of the Concord Art community, Frances N. Roddy, sculptor, watercolorist, gardener, friend and generous supporter of the arts in the region. Awards in her name, totaling $3000, will be presented during the Opening Reception on Thursday, September 13, at 7pm. The exhibition and reception (6-8pm) are free and open to the public.

Gallery hours are Tuesday-Saturday, 10-4:30pm and Sunday noon-4:00pm. Closed Mondays.
