Atlanta Gym Ranks as “Top 10 Fitness Clubs In The U.S.”

Aug. 6, 2012 - PRLog -- Every year, Club Industry Magazine, the highly respected fitness business publication, ranks U.S health club companies by total corporate revenues.  Urban Active made the 9th place with  reported $107.5 million revenue (up 7%), meeting their goal of making it into the Top 10 position of this year’s Club Industry’s “Top 100 Clubs List.”  This is a notable leap from last year’s #11 ranking.

Club Industry Magazine reported that “The encouraging news for the industry is that more companies reported double-digit growth percentages this year than last, and six of those increases were for more than 20 percent.”

Rick Caro, president of Management Vision, New York, who reviewed the information on the Top 100 Clubs List said, “Perhaps one of the hidden trends arising from this year’s Top 100 Clubs List is the planned growth by regional and middle–sized club companies that are adding one to two new facilities in the next year.”  He also added, “This is often at a faster pace than historically has been the case.”

Taking the Top 5 spots again this year were fitness heavy-hitters, 24 Hour Fitness ($1.5 billion), LA Fitness ($1.2 billion), Life Time Fitness ($1 billion), Club Corp ($725 million), and Bally Total Fitness ($468 million).

Urban Active Fitness has been voted "America's Top 3 Healthiest Gyms in the US" according to Health.com and has been voted "Best Gym" in all of their markets.  They have 36 Health & Fitness Lifestyle Clubs in seven states (Kentucky, Ohio, Tennessee, Omaha, Pennsylvania, North Carolina and Georgia).
