Aug. 14, 2012 - PRLog -- Neighbor hotel returns to Dromoland family

Newmarket-on-Fergus, IRE. --- Dromoland Castle Holdings Limited–owners of Dromoland Castle, one of Ireland's finest castle hotels–has announced the acquisition of the Clare Inn, a 181-room, 3-star hotel adjacent to the luxury resort in Newmarket-on-Fergus, Co. Clare.  Set on 21 acres next to the Dromoland Golf and Country Club, the Clare Inn, which opened in 1968, was originally part of the Dromoland Estate, but was sold prior to the present owner's purchase of Dromoland Castle in 1987.
Commenting on the acquisition, Mark Nolan, Dromoland Castle's Managing Director, said, "We are delighted that after 25 years, the Clare Inn has now returned to the Dromoland family. It has been a longstanding wish of the present owners and management to reunite the two properties under one operational team. While each hotel property will continue to serve distinct market segments, the acquisition is great news for both properties and for guests alike, allowing both hotels to expand on the informal relationship that has existed for some years, while ensuring further investment in the region." Guests of the Clare Inn already had access to the golf course and spa at Dromoland Castle. The new relationship will now allow both hotels to offer a wider complement of activities and amenities to guests during their stay.

Due in a large part to the 5-star resort’s long standing reputation for unsurpassed hospitality, 2011 was a very successful and profitable year for Dromoland Castle, and following the acquisition of the Clare Inn, it is expected that 2012 will surpass that and further enhance the iconic status and appeal of Dromoland Castle as Ireland’s premier luxury hotel.

Gavin O’Reilly, Chairman of Dromoland Castle, noted, “Over the past 20 years, we have continually invested in Dromoland across all aspects of our resort, from our 18-hole champion golf course and Golf Academy to our Beauty Spa and the Health and Fitness Centre, but above all it is our people, and more specifically the dedication, warmth and sense of community that Mark and his team demonstrate which continues to set Dromoland Castle apart. The acquisition of the Clare Inn means we are able to secure local jobs and provide further investment in the Shannon Region and represents an important boost for Irish Tourism. The Clare Inn will now join the Dromoland family, thus ensuring it becomes synonymous with all the great qualities and traditions of the award-winning Dromoland brand.”
