By: Bouk Management Over the past 10 years the Hooker has become known for its family friendly dining atmosphere and live music late nights on the weekends. Owner, Chris Boukedes, speaks about his involvement in the pub over the past seven years, “I absolutely love this pub; it is authentic; it has soul; it breathes everything that is great about Lake Norman. I feel extremely blessed to be part of this iconic place. When John Bisson, the original owner and current partner, built the Galway Hooker he had a vision to establish a venue that would stand the test of time as a Lake Norman landmark; I think he did just that!!!” The Galway Hooker presents its 10 Year Anniversary Party on September 1, whether you are looking for a laid back evening or a crazy night of tunes, the Hooker will have something for everyone. There will be a complimentary appetizer buffet from 4:00-6:00pm and My Three Kilts is set to hit the stage at 10:00pm. In an effort to stay true to their heritage while offering fun and upbeat entertainment, the Galway Hooker is proud to present My Three Kilts, “This band ain't your grandpa's Celtic music. We have as much in common with the Ramones as we do the Dubliners. Combining traditional Celtic influences with punk rock influences, ideals and attitude, we play a unique blend of Celtic/Pub/Punk. Our shows are punctuated with blasts of music and interactions with the audience." (http://www.mythreekilts.com). About The Galway Hooker Irish Pub Galway Hooker Restaurant and Irish Pub is located at 17044 Kenton Drive, just off Interstate 77 in Cornelius. The Galway Hooker Restaurant and Irish Pub believes that nothing inspires a great story like a delicious meal and a refreshing pint. That’s because the Galway Hooker is a story in and of itself. Originally built in Ireland, the pub was deconstructed and moved piece-by-piece to its current location off the shores of Lake Norman, just a stone’s throw from Charlotte, North Carolina. The pub is named for Galway Bay, which lies on the west coast of Ireland. Nearly all of the artifacts and décor inside the pub, including an authentic Galway Hooker boat, are from the area surrounding Galway Bay. The Galway Hooker serves traditional Irish favorites fused with contemporary items all made with fresh, locally grown ingredients. Galway Hooker is also home to Lake Norman Comedy Zone, which attracts some of the biggest names in comedy, as well as Waterford Hall, a spacious banquet facility. Plus, Galway Hooker is known to pour the coldest pints this side of Dublin. And don’t forget – at the Hooker you enter as friends and leave as family. End
