Galway Hooker Irish Pub Celebrates its 10 Year Anniversary

Aug. 15, 2012 - PRLog -- Ten long years ago the Galway Hooker was constructed by Ireland’s Dublin Pub Company, when it was deconstructed and moved piece by piece to its current location, just off the shores of Lake Norman.  With authentic relics, the Galway Hooker gives you the sense of being in a pub directly on the Galway Bay.

Over the past 10 years the Hooker has become known for its family friendly dining atmosphere and live music late nights on the weekends.  Owner, Chris Boukedes, speaks about his involvement in the pub over the past seven years, “I absolutely love this pub; it is authentic; it has soul; it breathes everything that is great about Lake Norman.  I feel extremely blessed to be part of this iconic place.  When John Bisson, the original owner and current partner, built the Galway Hooker he had a vision to establish a venue that would stand the test of time as a Lake Norman landmark; I think he did just that!!!”

The Galway Hooker presents its 10 Year Anniversary Party on September 1, whether you are looking for a laid back evening or a crazy night of tunes, the Hooker will have something for everyone.  There will be a complimentary appetizer buffet from 4:00-6:00pm and My Three Kilts is set to hit the stage at 10:00pm.  

In an effort to stay true to their heritage while offering fun and upbeat entertainment, the Galway Hooker is proud to present My Three Kilts, “This band ain't your grandpa's Celtic music.  We have as much in common with the Ramones as we do the Dubliners.  Combining traditional Celtic influences with punk rock influences, ideals and attitude, we play a unique blend of Celtic/Pub/Punk.  Our shows are punctuated with blasts of music and interactions with the audience."
