Abandoned on the Kennebec 2013 Calendar Available

Aug. 16, 2012 - PRLog -- David Fiske has put together a very interesting and unusual calendar using photographs taken during visits to Phippsburg, Augusta, and Swan Island, all on the Kennebec. It is available from lulu.com.

The picturesque calendar includes scenes from the former Perkins Township at Swan Island, Maine; the decommissioned Fort Baldwin at Phippsburg, Maine; and the Kennebec Arsenal at Augusta, Maine.

The photographs from Swan Island, near Richmond, Maine, are especially interesting. They show several of the still-standing homes that were abandoned when the Town of Perkins became part of Maine's history. Also included is the bucolic "Main Street" of Perkins, and an old cellar hole that still contains a rusted boiler.

The calendar is being sold at a discounted price of $16.19 (10% off its list price of $17.99).
