‘Bark & Splash!’ The “True” Dog Day of Summer Returns to the Duncan Family YMCA!

Amid Protests From Local Felines, The Duncan Y Stands By Its Annual Event

Aug. 17, 2012 - PRLog -- Though there has been an undercurrent of loud meows in the neighborhood, The Duncan Family YMCA has decided it is in the best interest of Arvada canines and their human companions, to continue ‘BARK & SPLASH,’ once again.

The annual event will be held Saturday, August 25h from 3-4:30 pm.  The end of summer ritual has become a Duncan YMCA favorite but it is not without its detractors.  Despite protests from local tabbies, Brain Tucker, Executive Director, Duncan Family YMCA, has vowed the event will continue. “We see no reason to end what is a very successful fun event for our neighborhood,” said Tucker. “We can only assume their protests are centered on the attention these dogs receive each year and they do not like it.  ‘Bark and Splash’ is a tradition. Plus, we have to drain and clean the pool at the end of summer.”

The Duncan YMCA will open its doors to all dogs big or small, furry or not – and they can splash or paddle their way from the shallow end to the deep waters of the pool!  A $1 donation per dog will go to the Community Support Campaign.
