Community Groups Encouraged to Sign Up for 2012 Involvement Fair at Harrisburg University

The free event gives community groups a ‘one-stop’ opportunity to talk to students about their organizations, to answer questions and to interact with prospective members or volunteers.

Aug. 29, 2012 - PRLog -- One of the best measures of student success at Harrisburg University of Science and Technology is the extent to which students get involved with the local community as well as campus life. Attending the 2012 Involvement Fair is a wonderful way for regional community groups to educate students about these opportunities and for students to sample a wide variety of organizations in a relatively short period of time.

Harrisburg University students can find an organization that perfect for them at the Involvement Fair, which is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. , September 4, on the 12th Floor of the Academic Center, located at 326 Market Street.

The free event gives community groups a ‘one-stop’ opportunity to talk to students about their organizations, to answer questions and to interact with prospective members or volunteers. Participating organizations often bring eye-catching displays for their tables.

Students are encouraged to visit the fair to learn more about opportunities for community service, events in the region and ways to become involved in the community. There are opportunities to sign up for organizations' email listservs, to sign up for informational meetings to attend, and to walk away with plenty of free stuff.

Community groups wishing to register for the event should contact Kim Bowman of HU’s Student Services at Kbowman@HarrisburgU.edu or call 717.901.5173.
