KOA Care Camps Donation to Camp Kindle

Aug. 29, 2012 - PRLog -- Pictured below, six month old Jimmy Brown keeps a close eye on the $50,000 cheque that dad Christopher and mom Lacey, co-owners of Hinton/Jasper KOA Campground located in Hinton, Alberta, Canada presented to Christine McIver, CEO of Kids Cancer Care Foundation of Alberta on behalf of the KOA Campground Owners Association Care Camps Trust. The presentation occurred on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at the Calgary offices of Kids Cancer Care Foundation of Alberta. The cheque will be used for renovations and improvements to Camp Kindle located at Water Valley. Camp Kindle was selected as the only Care Camp in North America to receive funding from KOA Care Camps Trust for improvements this year.
KOA Campground Owners are dedicated to raising funds to help give children with cancer and their siblings the gift of camping and experiencing the joys of childhood. The KOA Care Camps Trust sponsors over 50 specially equipped nonprofit camps throughout the United States and Canada. These camps are designed especially for children suffering with cancer. They have on-site medical facilities with almost entirely volunteer professional staff and trained counselors to care for campers’ cancer-related needs. Individual KOA Campground owners hold a variety of fund raising events on their campgrounds throughout the camping season. Seven KOA campground owners volunteer to make up the board that administers the funds that are raised by the KOA Care Camps program. The KOA owners challenge for this year has been to put one million smiles on the faces of the children going to Care Camps.
