MMK CLASSICS tells the true-to-life stories of Jovit, Bringas Brothers & Happy Feet

Pilipinas Got Talent finalists’ road to success lead September line-up of sub-titled version of longest-running drama

Aug. 30, 2012 - PRLog -- After bringing the best in drama in August, MMK’s classic version on The Filipino Channel (TFC) is set to deliver more memorable scenes in September as it unveils the life story of outstanding young people.  Award-winning host Charo-Santos Concio reads through the letters and breathes life into the stories of young men who either have outstanding talent or show strength of character despite their young age.

Starting on September 1, MMK Classics or the longest-running drama’s version with English sub-titles will feature ‘Saklay,’ the touching story of Pilipinas Got Talent (PGT) 3rd place winners Bringas Brothers.  In the episode and in real life, Kurt and Jeff as played by celebrity brothers Rayver and Rodjun Cruz, are a picture of deep brotherly love.  The elder brother Jeff sacrifices his own career choices for a chance to help his brother Kurt, a person with disability.  Jeff also inspires his brother further when he joins him in PGT’s season 3.

On September 8, MMK Classics will showcase the life of another pair of successful PGT alumni – the ‘Happy Feet.’  Aptly dubbed ‘Tap Dancing Shoes,’ the episode tells the real-life story of brothers Ramonito (played by John Prats) and Lourdito (portrayed by Nash Aguas) who are gifted with the unique talent of tap dancing without even knowing what their line of dance is called much less, the shoes to go with it.  Their touching story unfolds with Nikki Valdez in a supporting role.

The week after, on September 15, MMK Classics will retell the story of another set of brothers Edgar and Dagul in the episode dubbed ‘Tsinelas.’  The brothers earned the interest of the MMK story team because of their travel from Novaliches in Manila to Samar in Visayas by foot, out our sheer poverty and in search of a better life.

On September 22, witness the road to success of PGT Season 1 Grand Winner Jovit Baldovino.  Jovit, played by John Carl Barrameda in the show always had dreams of becoming a singer.  Despite the discouragement he got for his simple looks and background as a vendor, Jovit managed to break barriers and set out to become the reality singing show’s first champion in its successful first run.  The episode is named ‘Siomai’ after the first items that Jovit sold as peddler.

Finally on September 29, MMK Classics will read through the story Abel (Joseph Marco) in the episode ‘Langis.’  Abel took on the responsibilities of his parents, Andres (portrayed by Jimmy Santos) and Belen (played by Susan Africa), after they were arrested for illegal recruitment.
