Gering to host 2012 Nebraska Travel Conference

The Nebraska Tourism Commission invites the state’s travel industry and the media to attend its annual Travel Conference. This year’s event will be Oct. 24-25 at the Gering Civic Center in Gering, Neb.

Anyone interested in learning more about tourism, Nebraska’s third leading industry, is encouraged to register and attend the conference. Online registration and the full conference schedule are available at VisitNebraska.gov/tcregistration.

Attendees will learn about customer service and communication, marketing to different demographics, funding opportunities for tourism projects, experiential tourism and new ways to use social media outlets. The conference will wrap up with an awards ceremony recognizing outstanding achievements in tourism in 2012.

Monument Inn & Suites, adjacent to the Gering Civic Center, is offering a special conference rate until Sept. 9. The Hampton Inn & Suites also is offering a special conference rate until Oct. 2. Be sure to mention you are attending the Nebraska Travel Conference. Transportation will be provided between the Hampton Inn and the civic center.
