And has re-invented the bauble by having them exquisitely crocheted and re-imagined Christmas Tree branches by having the funkily knitted. Only working with those who share her ethical outlook. They feature cool Christmas Puddings with holly leaf and berry detail, fun dotty spheres in multi colours, cute miniature pastel baubles and others finished with sweet buttons. The crochet work is of a high standard and the detail amazing. The Peruvian ladies making them, think the english are slightly crazy wanting them and enjoy producing them. As it gives them the opportunity to earn a living wage from their craft in a new and different way. Branches These sculptural pieces are a work of art and have been on Sarah’s mind for some time. Melanie Porter who has established herself as a 3D knitter, working with furniture to lampshades and seemed a perfect partner for the idea. Made in her studio in London, they are a true english eccentric item. Now every home can have contemporary, knitted branches to adorn their fireplace, weave around the banister or group in a vase with festooned with crochet baubles. The other advantage is no dropping needles and they can be gently teased into new shapes as the knitting sits on a wire frame. Plus they will last a lifetime, bought out ever year to bring something a little bit different to the table or fireplace. To this end all their products are made ethically in Peru with Fairtrade companies and here in the UK. Where possible their goods are eco friendly too, either in terms of environment, process or materials. About the Founder Sarah Baulch established English Eccentric, as a sister company to ReVampt, which is about up-cycling. Over five years she has passed on her specialist knowledge to thousands of people.
