Watford Community Housing Trust are achieving paperless meetings with iPads.

Sept. 19, 2012 - PRLog -- The Trust owns and manages nearly 5,000 affordable homes. They are regulated by the Homes and Communities Agency, and governed by a Board which is made up of tenants/leaseholders, independents and councillors. Having good governance is imperative to the smooth running of the organisation.

The Board chose the eShare BoardPacks software, along with the BoardPacks app for iPad, to enable efficient production and distribution of meeting papers. In doing so they will be cutting down on paper wastage and becoming greener as a result.

Julie Robinson, Director of Resources, explained “we wanted to implement iPads for the Board as they are easy to use, irrespective of IT skill/ knowledge. Members will use the iPads with the BoardPacks app, enabling us to run paperless board meetings.”
The Trust are focussing on achieving paperless meetings at present, but in time will look to adopt the wider governance solution to assist with managing other aspects of the boards activities.

Julie continued “it didn’t take us long to decide that eShare would provide the best solution for us; it is clear that their software is much easier to use than other products.”
Implementing eShare will not only mean improved governance for the Trust; they will also be saving money. Julie confirmed “we hope to save about £32,950 per year in cost and time, which also includes saving a tremendous amount of paper, making the Trust more environmentally friendly”.
