Tern and Xtracycle Offer Cargo Joe

Building on Tern’s commitment to making bicycle commuting more frequent, fun, and practical, the “Cargo Joe C21,” incorporates its Joe platform – a full-size 26’’ wheel bike that folds in seconds – with Xtracycle’s legendary “FreeRadical Classic” kit. There’s little this combination won’t offer riders; the Joe C21 offers plenty of giddy-up with a comfortable, cruiser-like geometry and the FreeRadical laughs in the face of Costco trips. Its FlatDeck even lets your kiddo, spouse, or buddy, ride shotgun.

“I have been an Xtracycle evangelist for ages and rigged up one of my own Tern’s earlier this summer with a FreeRadical. I put around one hundred miles on it in the first week. I took it everywhere,” said Steve Boyd, general manager for Tern in North America. “This is a collaboration long in the making and we expect reception to be very positive as more folks leave the car parked in the driveway in favor of a heavy duty hauler like this.”

A bike with the perfect gearing (21 speeds) for pointing the FreeRadical-ized Joe uphill, downhill, and across the flats along with a quick 10 second fold-to-unfold turnaround time, the Cargo C21 will float across roads both rough and smooth. With the FreeRadical Classic, the bike’s “long tail” equips you to carry groceries, cargo of all shapes and sizes, lite loads or heavy ones, and passengers.
