Kym Lee, Washington, DC. Based Celebrity Makeup Artist Was Honored at BlackOut Awards

Washington, DC (September 24, 2012) - Celebrity make-up artist Kym Lee, was honored last night at beauty, fashion, and entertainment’s most anticipated event, The BlackOut Awards, presented by Yancey Edwards. This third annual night of prestige was hosted by 98.7 KISS FM’s, Toya Beasley last night Sunday, September 23, 2012. Located at One Sopac Way, South Orange, NJ, The Sopac Performing Arts Center began the show at 8:00pm.

The BlackOut Awards recognized and honored the individuals that create the artistry behind the scenes of the entertainment and fashion industry. Kym Lee, whose most recent project was creating the beautiful make-up looks for the late great Whitney Houston in the movie, “Sparkle,” along with the supporting cast, was honored along with Ted Gibson, Mona Scott, Stevie Boi, Dawn Fitch, Chuck Amos, Matthew Jordan Smith, Tippi Shorter, Johnny Wright, and Derek J. Collaboratively, these artists have styled the hair of celebrities such as Angelina Jolie, Beyonce’ and Solange Knowles, Lady Gaga, Natalie Cole, and even The First Lady of The United States, Michelle Obama. Members of this panel have also photographed celebrities such as Halle Berry, Jamie Foxx, and Oprah Winfrey, created skin products available at Whole Foods Markets good enough for your skin to eat, designed shades for Amber Rose, and even produced VH1’s hit reality show, “Love & Hip Hop.”

KymLee is a Washingtonian with an equal passion for beauty as she has for Christ. This 15 year BET veteran considers her make-up case to be her pulpit, as she views doing make-up as an opportunity to encourage people spiritually. Her brushes have graced the faces of celebrities such as Angela Bassett, Kerri Washington, Paula Patton, Sherri Shepherd, Tasha Smith, Loretta Divine, Meagan Good, Mo’Nique, Omarosa, Danny Glover, Idris Elba, Hill Harper, Terrance Howard, Mike Epps, Pooch Hall, and Romeo.
