Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital (PIH) Takes the Triple Crown

Sept. 28, 2012 - PRLog -- Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital (PIH) continues to prove its commitment to the community by earning the prestigious and national NRC Picker Path to Excellence award for Best Practices for the third consecutive year. The award was presented at the NRC Picker 18th Annual Patient-Centered Care Symposium held September 16-19, 2012 in Chicago, Illinois.

The Path to Excellence award recognizes healthcare organizations for their dedication to improving the patient experience. PIH was selected from NRC Picker’s extensive database of members, ranging from small specialty hospitals to large multi-hospital systems. PIH was recognized as a top performer in the category of hospitals with 300-plus beds when patients were asked the question “How would you rate this hospital?”

Denise Authier, RN, BSN, professional practice coordinator at PIH attributes the award to the hands-on approach and engagement of staff members who work alongside leadership to provide patients with the best outcomes possible. “Innovation in our processes have been successful because the initiative is driven by our staff who know the workflows best,” said Authier.
