Harrisburg University Offers Virtual Viewing and Poll of October 3rd Presidential Debate

Groups can watch the debates at other locations offsite and complete the online poll, too. Participants will be able to see the poll results immediately in real time.
 
Oct. 1, 2012 - PRLog -- Harrisburg University of Science and Technology will host a viewing and an online poll of the first presidential debate  between Governor Mitt Romney and President Barack Obama.  

Members of the HU community--including faculty, donors, alumni, students and staff--as well as members of Harrisburg Young Professionals are invited to attend the event at 9 p.m., Wednesday, October 3rd, in the HU Auditorium or participate in the online option for off-campus.  Attendees will answer online questions posed by HU faculty during the debate from their computers or cell phones, too.  

An online option is available for K-12 students and educators, and residents of Dauphin, York, Lancaster-Lebanon and Cumberland counties.  These groups can watch the debates at other locations offsite and complete the online poll, too.  Participants will be able to see the poll results immediately in real time.  

All attendees (both onsite and offsite) who wish to take part must register in advance by completing the online registration found at http://tinyurl.com/HUDebateEvent ( https://harrisburgu.adobeconnect.com/_a1010348061/debate-... ) by noon,  Wednesday, October 3rd. Instructions will be sent via email to registrants.

This first debate focuses on domestic policy topics.  Civic engagement and global awareness are two of the core competencies that HU students are expected to master.
