Houston Wellness Boutique Hosts Breast Cancer Survivor Celebration Event

Oct. 10, 2012 - PRLog -- Houston Wellness Boutique, a specialty boutique for cancer patients located in the West University district, will close out breast cancer awareness month with an afternoon event to honor survivors and to ensure their post-surgical needs and chemo side effects are managed. The afternoon reception will be from 11:00a.m.-3:00p.m. with food provided by My Fit Foods. There will be door prizes and post-surgery informative sessions throughout the afternoon.

“It is extremely difficult to see a loved one go through treatment,” says Terry Tribble, MBA, CMF, Owner of Houston Wellness Boutique. “I have had several close family members undergo treatment and know first-hand how difficult it is and wanted to do something to make women retain their feelings of confidence and beauty. A positive self-image is the foundation of our business”

Through her work, Tribble has uncovered that the majority of patients do not know where to turn for items after surgery. Many clients that come to the boutique are wearing ill- fitting bras or have constructed homemade contraptions with painful and irritating tape. In addition to being a certified mastectomy fitter, Tribble is also a permanent cosmetic makeup artist. She uses that skill to help cancer patients or women with other illnesses that affect their hair regain the look of a natural brow.
