BioLogic Releases BikeBrain v2.3

Oct. 10, 2012 - PRLog -- TAIPEI, TAIWAN – October 10, 2012 – BioLogic, a specialist in urban cycling gear, today announced the release of version 2.3 of their top-rated iPhone cycle computer app, BikeBrain.

With BikeBrain, you can now connect a Bluetooth v4.0 (sold as Bluetooth Smart and Bluetooth Smart Ready) heart rate sensor with your iPhone 4S and iPhone 5, allowing the ability to record your heart rate to better keep track of your workout. In addition, Bluetooth v4.0 speed and cadence sensors can now communicate with the newest upgrade. The app supports the pairing of up to two speed and cadence sensors for two different bikes, providing users with the flexibility to collect data on their daily commute as well as a long weekend ride, without the hassle of reformatting for different bicycles. BioLogic heart rate, speed and cadence sensors will be available for purchase Spring 2013 but standard sensors currently on the market utilizing Bluetooth 4.0 technology are also compatible with the upgrade.

The additional functionality of connecting sensors allows users to auto start/pause/resume recording trip data when motion is detected by a speed or cadence sensor. “We really like the ability to personalize your workout with the addition of sensor pairing,” stated Stewart Clarke, BikeBrain Product Manager. “With the ability to connect your heart rate monitor, we’re giving people the benefits of getting additional training data out of their ride.”
The Sensor Compatibility update will be available as an in-app upgrade as part of the Training Module for a special introductory price of $0.99 or purchased as a bundle with the Social Sharing and Data Enhancements Modules for only $1.99. The Sensor Compatibility update to the Training Module will be available for purchase from the iTunes app store on Wednesday, October 10.

In addition to the latest app release, all users are able to create a profile and access user manuals on the newly launched www.BikeBrain.net. The website is designed to create a community for BikeBrain users to share information related to their BikeBrain experience through forum discussions and user-generated content.

BikeBrain is also the official iPhone app for the CLIF Bar 2 Mile Challenge, a competition to support the efforts of non-profit organizations committed to the future of biking. In October, the Alliance for Biking and Walking will benefit from a donation proportional to all trips logged by 2 Mile Challenge participants in the US.
