Angelica Harris to Offer Advice on the Defense Against Domestic Violence

Oct. 10, 2012 - PRLog -- Angelica Harris is a successful author, entrepreneur, advocate and speaker. Her journey to disempower her rage began in 2010 with the writing of her memoir, "Living With Rage: A Quest for Solace". She is now using her story to build a community of victors that will fight domestic violence and help others—and one another—find healing.  Harris recently created the Excalibur Reading Program- The Unicorn Project, a non-profit program bringing the importance of reading, writing, and the arts to all children, as well as to organizations dedicated to children with special needs. Harris also teaches creative writing for teens as part of District Attorney Richard Brown's Second Chance Program, which helps first-time nonviolent offenders redirect their lives. In addition, her programs offer a place of solace for individuals who have been victims of abuse offering both resources and support.  

Harris was recently honored by her Kiwanis Club of Glendale, NY with the Every Day Heroes Award, along with citations from State Senator Joseph P. Addabbo, Jr. and Council Member Elizabeth Crowley for her dedication to her Excalibur Reading Program and her special youth programs.
